Landing pages generally fall into one of three categories: splash pages, squeeze pages and sales pages. When creating a campaign, you may use one or all of these pages to move users forward. Let’s check out the three types of high-converting landing pages, the benefits to each and how they can be utilized for your campaigns.

1. Splash Pages

Splash pages, also called splash screens or welcome gates, are introductory pages that customers see when they visit your website. The page pops up to welcome visitors and get them to follow through with a desired action, such as signing up for a newsletter or downloading an ebook. Typically, these landing pages only ask for an email address.

Splash pages are effective at capturing visitors’ attention and generating leads. And, because they’re only shown to users who are already on your site, they’re not disruptive to the user experience. If the visitor doesn’t care to follow through with the offer, they can close out of the page and continue on their way.

2. Squeeze Pages

Squeeze pages, or lead capture pages, are the most common types of landing pages. They’re called this because they’re designed to “squeeze” information out of your visitors. Aside from an email address, a squeeze page may ask for a name, company role or birthdate. To create a strong squeeze page, be sure to include the following:

  • Strong headline
  • Compelling offer
  • Call to action
  • Opt-in form
  • Testimonials
  • Social proof
  • Images/video

3. Sales Pages

The last type of landing page is a sales page, which focuses on generating sales. Splash and squeeze pages are usually directed at new prospects, visitors and cold traffic, whereas sales pages target warm leads who have interacted with your brand in some way.

Because your goal is to make a sale, you’ll need a compelling sales page that includes persuasive content, striking imagery and an enticing offer. To ensure your sales page is effective, be sure to split test the different elements on your page – CTA, offers, headers, images, etc.

These are the three most popular types of landing pages you can use on your site. Choose one or all of them to capture more leads, move people through the funnel and boost sales. To discuss creating these pages to meet your campaign goals, contact Magna Technology today.
